When downloading the software, some virus scanners may display warning messages, depending on the individual settings.

During the installation, administrator rights are required to install the device driver for the 1-Wire Reader and the iButtons (Dallas Keys). Among other things, this involves checking the registry entries and the USB bus.

The WITTKOPP system environment checks the existing hardware and running processes to determine whether a more recent version is available. A decision is made whether an update or a new installation is required.

Such behavior patterns are examined by some virus scanners during their heuristic analysis of malware. For this reason, the installation files may be classified as suspicious and possibly moved to quarantine. These classifications are based on behavioral analysis and do not provide any concrete evidence of viruses.
