Fingerprint and key: secure access in every situation

IIn our technologically advanced world, codes, PINs, and passwords play a central role, but managing and protecting this data is often cumbersome.

This is where FINKEY 7000 comes in, a biometric system that enables access to secure storage units with a simple finger movement. The system also offers an emergency key function for access in unforeseen situations.

Reliable authentication thanks to biometrics

Fingerprint recognition begins with capturing and storing fingerprints in the system. When a finger is swiped over the scanning unit, the unique minutiae -characteristic points of the skin ridges - are precisely captured. These minutiae are different for every person and every finger, and generally remain unchanged except in cases of injury.

They are converted into a mathematical model, the fingerprint template, and stored. The comparison of the presented fingerprint with the template grants access upon successful matching. A fingerprint cannot be reconstructed from a template, ensuring the security of the biometric data.

FINKEY 7000 distinguishes between three finger categories:

  • Masterfinger: Administers the system and manages users.
  • User finger: Opens and closes the system.
  • Alarm finger: Opens and closes the system, triggers a silent alarm when the burglar alarm system is activated (only available for VdS class 2).

The system also allows for fine-tuning via the remote control, such as blocking users, providing flexible control and customization to meet individual requirements.

Quick access via app

The FINKEY APP variant allows effortless operation and management of the biometric system directly through a smartphone app. The user steps are clearly visualized on the large smartphone display.

A special highlight is the real-time event log, which documents the last 1,000 operations with date and time. Personal information such as names and fingerprints can now be easily entered and managed. Communication between the biometric scanning unit and the smartphone takes place via Bluetooth.

The app is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Biometric security according to VdS and ECB•S standard

The combination of fingerprint and high-quality electronic lock offers double protection and complies with the strict VdS and ECB-S guidelines.

With certification in VdS classes 1 and 2 as well as ECB-S testing, FINKEY (except FINKEY APP) is suitable for safes in accordance with EN1143-1 grade 0 to V. It goes without saying that the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are complied with.
