GATOR series

Overview & System

GATOR creates enthusiasm - with safety

GATOR impresses with its flexibility and variety

Do your safes need to meet different security requirements? GATOR is a modular system in which you can flexibly combine input units with and without display and locks. Stand-alone solution or multi-lock system, both are possible. GATOR is suitable for secure storage units according to EN1143-1 grade 0 to XIII.

GATOR impresses with its redundancy

Do you place the highest demands on reliability? With the redundant GATOR locks, all safety-relevant components are duplicated. If one component fails, the functionality of the system is not impaired. GATOR guarantees continuous security around the clock.

GATOR inspires with time programs

Do your employees not need access to the safe after business hours or on public holidays? Then lock the safe for your employees outside business hours with time programs for weekly and special days. But you want to have access to the safe at all times? This can also be easily set up with GATOR.

GATOR impresses with its network capability

You don't want to manage safes at different locations individually on site? GATOR can be configured and monitored remotely via a PC and a network. On-site administration is reduced to a minimum and conveniently carried out remotely.

The locks

All security-relevant functions of the GATOR system are located at lock and therefore in the highly secure area of the safe. Even in the event of an attack on the input unit, not only does all data such as codes or profiles remain protected, but also the individual time programs.

GATOR locks can be operated in both single and multi-lock mode. In multi-lock operation, it is possible to control up to 15 locks with a single input unit. The assignment of a lock to the corresponding input unit is carried out quickly and flexibly via a coding switch, which is attached directly to lock . This ensures smooth cooperation between the components and underlines the flexibility of the system.

The input units

The GATOR series presents a diverse selection of beautifully designed and carefully thought-out input units. Depending on your requirements, you have the option of choosing an input unit with or without a display. You also have the option of upgrading to an input unit with a display at any time.

The convenient versions with a graphic display offer a transparent representation of the processes on the safe. Code entries and programming are easy to understand and code management is simplified. The intuitive menu navigation is based exclusively on pictograms, which means that the GATOR system can be used regardless of the national language. For VdS classes 3 and 4, the display must also be equipped with a privacy filter to protect codes from unauthorized spying.

The GATOR input units have alphanumeric keypads on which the keys 0 to 9 simultaneously display the letters A to Z (with the exception of the GATOR DS). As it is known to be easier to memorize words instead of pure numbers, users can mentally associate their numeric code with a word. This helps to avoid forgetting the code.

The connection boxes

Boxes for the power supply

Adapter box: GatorPOWER ADAPT
With GatorPOWER ADAPT, GATOR locks can be connected to the external power supply.

Signal box: GatorSIGNAL+
The VdS-certified GatorSIGNAL+ locking element enables the reliable exchange of signals between a GATOR-lock and an external system. For example, if the code for a silent alarm is entered into the lock , GatorSIGNAL+ transmits this alarm signal to the intruder alarm system (IAS). If the lock is not supplied with power directly from the intruder alarm system, the 12VDC/2A GatorPOWER 12 plug-in power supply unit is required.

With the GATOR 3000 / 3010 / 3011 locks, the power is supplied in the
- Battery operation or
- Mains operation (prerequisite: GatorPOWER ADAPT) or
- External operation, e.g. via intruder alarm system (prerequisite: GatorSIGNAL+)

With the GATOR 6000 / 8000 / 9000 locks, the power supply is provided in the
- Mains operation (prerequisite: GatorPOWER 12 and GatorSIGNAL+) or
- External operation, e.g. via intruder alarm system (prerequisite: GatorSIGNAL+)
Due to higher power requirements, it is not possible to operate the redundant GATOR locks with batteries. The push-pull block bolt of these locks requires the use of bolt position switches and therefore excludes the use of the adapter box.

Boxes for network access

The GatorGATEWAY network box enables fast data exchange within the network. It ensures secure and protected communication between the GATOR software and the GATOR locking system. The use of AES encryption effectively secures data connections and communication protocols.
GATORSYSTEM
TCP/IP converter: GatorCONVERTER
The GatorCONVERTER is used to enable integration into an existing Ethernet LAN. The TCP/IP protocol is used for communication. As communication on the RS485 side is encrypted, the converter can also be installed outside the secure area or the secure storage unit.

Access: GatorGATEWAY
GatorGATEWAY establishes communication with lock . The box must be placed inside the secure area or secure storage unit to ensure a reliable connection and maximum security. Note: This solution is outside the scope of EN 1300 and can be certified as a system in accordance with EN 17646 if required.

GATOR Software

The GATOR software package considerably simplifies the organization and management of safes. Processes such as setting up users no longer have to be carried out directly at the input unit of the safe, but can be prepared conveniently and comfortably remotely from a PC. This reduces local administration to a minimum.

The GatorSELECT software double pack consists of the GatorSELECT configuration software, the GatorAUDIT audit software and an iButton as a license key:

- GatorSELECT is used to configure the lock system: Users are assigned to profiles, time programs are set up, the assignment of
of the connection boxes and many other settings are made. The
lock system can be adapted to individual requirements quickly and efficiently.

- GatorAUDIT is used to read out 1,000 events at the secure storage unit. All processes are logged seamlessly with the date and time
. For example, it is possible to trace which user last opened lock
on which day and at what time.

- The software is protected by a license key in the form of an iButton. At the same time, the iButton acts as a
data carrier. If a lock system is not integrated into a network, data is imported or exported via the iButton.

GATOR access authorizations

Codes and profiles

Up to 50 users or 50 codes can be programmed for each GATOR system. All codes can be created either via the software or on site by the manager. For security reasons, the lock cannot be opened immediately with a newly created code. Only after the user has changed the code is it possible to open the lock.

The programmed users or codes can be assigned to different profiles such as manager or user. Each GATOR profile includes specific access authorizations. These authorizations clearly define which actions may be carried out by the profile owner at what time.

User groups

It is possible to create user groups and assign an individual number of users to these groups. The user groups enable a differentiated assignment of lock functions, such as the dual-control principle or time programs. Every user in a group is authorized to open the lock .

Manager

The manager has the authorization to open lock . It is also responsible for managing all users.

Administrator

The administrator is not authorized to open lock . He is only responsible for configuring the system.

Single opening

The profile owner is authorized to open lock . It should be noted that the code is only valid for a single use and then expires.

Opening with additional medium

The profile owner is only authorized to open lock with an additional medium such as an iButton.

Service

The profile owner is authorized to open the lock , activate/deactivate signal functions and read out configurations even when the lock signal is activated.

Quick opening

The profile owner has the option of opening lock without delay during a programmed opening delay time.

User blocking

This profile assignment makes it possible to reduce the number of users.

Gateway

By using a converter and gateway, the GATOR system can be seamlessly integrated into a network. This opens up the possibility of programming and controlling an unlimited number of locks via the GATORSELECT software, regardless of time and location.

GATOR functions

Activate / deactivate profile

Individual profiles can be blocked. Master, manager and administrator are exempt from blocking

____________________________________________

False code lock

A blocking time occurs after 4 incorrect code entries in succession. The locking period starts again after 2 further incorrect entries. The locking period cannot be canceled

____________________________________________

Dual-control principle*

The lock can only be opened by entering 2 codes together
